What's with the cell phone? Don't think she's watching around is she's on the phone in the car. Also, "suburban scenery" wouldn't be mentioned in overcrowded, crumbling, rundown Brooklyn, New York! She'd have 10 cars, two school buses, and a tractor-trailer behind her yelling, honking and otherwise turning her into a nervous wreck... Reply

Envisioning family... I was excited to see Chana's message, as I made this discovery for myself last year. I worked in a very busy mall, in sales, and sometimes customers were, well, quite difficult. If I found a particular stranger to be irritating, hard to connect with, or just generally bothersome, I would stop and imagine that they are someone's daughter, grandmother, or sister. Suddenly, I had so much more patience and was able to see them on a new level, which allowed me to enjoy our brief interactions. It truly can make a difference. Reply

Blaming the Victim The student driver isn't going to a good school if the school isn't teaching to drive considerately. That includes not holding up traffic. Going slowly? Pull over and let the other cars pass.

When teaching my kids, that's what we did when cars were behind us.

If you are patient, that's great. But it's wrong for the student driver to inconvenience others. Reply

thanks! Today i was practicing driving with my instructor ,specialist in driving rehabilitation)when a car accelerates from behind us and passes me furiosly on the rigth side of the road!The car has a big handicapped sign on the roof and it took me by surprise.This person should learn from Chana's example !I have a diissability and I want t be in charge of my life ! People should think that maybe at any given moment ,they can be the ones trying to relearn driving o become incapaciteded ! Reply

This Is Great! Chana, I really like your new vidcast gig! And thank you for the reminder that it is good to have patience., and that the way to do that is to see the other person (or people) as loved ones. I am not so lucky as to have a daughter, but I can still manage to visualize other loved ones.

I am working on having patience even though I am worried about the timing of things. I should really know better than this worrying nonsense. None of the good fortune I have been experiencing lately is of my own making anyway, and G-d will see to the details. G-d has already seen to the details: why would I expect any different?

Now if G-d would just grant me patience when I am driving as you have been granted patience while driving. I like what you said--it really was good. Reply

chana weisberg I just saw my first Chana Weisberg video, the one about having more empathy. It is really superb! Some years ago, she came to speak here in the greater Los Angeles area right on Valentine's Day. It slipped my mind; I forgot all about it; so I never went. I was so disappointed.
