Hello, Rabbi Shishler
Reference: Moses inability to not fully complete what he started. I re-read the scriptures and I thought about it. If one looks at it from a different perspective, Moses did complete the mission. The point is not physically but spiritually. G-d allowed Moses to see the Promise Land. G-d could have said no to his request as well. Also, Moses gave the Jews the law dictated to him by G-d. Everyday, since antiquity, the law is ever before the Jews wherever they are in the world and must be obeyed. The soul of Moses is in the Jew and before the Jew and even if his foot did not step on the soil of the Promise Land his soul does and G-d gives Moses the credit [the meekess man that ever lived]. What's more important? While Moses was not translated to heaven like the Prophet Elijah and Enoc, G-d buried him [aren't there rules about touching the dead]. Who does not know the law of Moses [near and far]; Jew or Gentile? Moses soul lives! Mission completed! Reply
