Blessing and Greeting:

I duly received your letter of September 7th, as well as the material for "Challenge".

We are now in the auspicious days of Elul the significance of which has been explained by the Alter Rebbe in terms of the following analogy: There are times when a king leaves his palace and goes out to meet his subjects in the field, when everyone, regardless of his state and station, can approach the king, and the king receives everyone graciously and fulfills their petitions. The days of Elul are such a period when the King of Kings is, as it were, "in the field." This is, therefore, the proper time to strengthen the adherence to the commandments of the King, and to receive a greater measure of the King's blessings. May you and your husband indeed enjoy G‑d's blessings to have true Nachas, which is Yiddish Torah Nachas, from all your offspring, in good health, and affluence materially and spiritually.

Wishing you and yours a Kesivo vaChasimo Tovo,

With blessing,

M. Schneerson
