Greeting and Blessing:
I received your letter with regard to a number of questions relating to the Din and custom.
You write that you have already received the opinion of the Rosh Yeshiva, without mentioning his reasons. However, being on the spot, he is surely familiar with the circumstances and particulars, especially as you could furnish them to him personally, which is not possible to do by means of a letter. In view of this, you ought to bring to the attention of the Rosh Yeshiva all the aspects involved, and discuss the matter with him, and he will surely advise you to do what is best for you.
One thing, however, I would like to emphasize here. You mention about the possibility of postponing the wedding. I am not at all in favor of postponing a wedding, as it is a matter or principle for me to advise in such cases to make the wedding as soon after the engagement as possible.
You do not mention anything about your Shiurim, but I trust that you are fulfilling the requirement of keeping all holy things on the ascendancy, and steadily advancing on the road of the Torah and Mitzvoth.
With prayerful wishes that G‑d, Whose benevolent Providence extends to everyone individually, lead you in the way that is best for you, materially and spiritually, and that you and your chosen partner in life should build your home on the foundations of the Torah and Mitzvoth, illuminated by the light and vitality of Chassidus, and wishing you a Ksivo vachasimo toivo,
with blessing,
M. Schneerson
