At 12:50 is the discussion of why a woman who gives birth to a boy is spiritually impure for 40 days but to a girl for 80 days. In addition to what is mentioned about a girl being able to have another child and that being the reason the days are double, the following could be suggested:
When a person passes away and the soul leaves the body, the absence of that holiness of that soul creates a spiritual impurity. When a baby is born, the soul of the baby leaves the body of the mother, creating a spiritual impurity. When a girl is born, because of her ability to reproduce, a greater amount of holiness leaves the body of the mother, causing a greater amount of spiritual impurity after the birth of a girl. That could be suggested as to why the days are double.
