The Mishnah instructs us to “Be a student of Aaron,” love peace, pursue peace; love G-d’s creations...” Notably, the passage concludes, “and bring them close to Torah.”

Some think that if they water down the Torah they’ll be doing a great service by making it more accessible, but not only is this not doing anyone a favor, it’s doing a disservice; instead of drawing people closer, it distances them from the true word of G-d. We must remain true to Torah. Indeed, the adage “the ways of Torah are pleasant and its paths are peace,” is proof that this the most amenable and peaceful approach to take.
