Gefilte Fish Ingredients

3 Carrot stalks
2 celery stalks
1 parsnip peeled (optional)
1 onion scored
1 teaspoon salt
3 garlic cloves
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons sugar


Fill a medium pot or Dutch oven half way with water and bring to a boil. Add all the vegetables and spices to the boiling water. Wet the palms of your hands and form oval shaped balls and gently drop them into the pot. Bring to a second boil. Lower flame and allow to simmer covered for 1 ½ hours.

Gefilte Fish Loaf Instructions

Follow same method as gefilte fish balls. When water boils, place fish loaf into the pot for 1 1/2 hours. Cool, slice and decorate on a platter.
