Debunking the Myths of Orthodox Life

Thank you for the feedback G Pac. It seems that the couple is not saying that this is the way things are done in secular culture period. They are pointing out a cultural norm. It has been normalized in Western culture for two people to move in with one another prior to marriage. This can be seen by the fact that even Prince Wiliam and Princess Kate of England, heirs to the throne and a purported symbol of propriety in the Western world, lived together prior to getting married. In contrast, it has not been normalized in Orthodox Jewish culture for a couple to move in together or to be sexually active prior to marriage. The fact that there are exceptions to this norm (and I am sure there are many) does not take away from the fact that there is a fundamental difference in values and principles as they are generally tought in social media, media, pop culture, politics and academia in contrast to a Torah based education and culture.
