When you look carefully into the story of the Exodus, you see that the true redeeming force was the faith of the women.
Today, history is repeating itself.

Female Redeeming Power
All through the Bible there were great women behind men.Because of these wonderful women these men like Moses were able to do.G-d's work.
I believe that even today if we women adhere to G-ds word, and do what.He calls us for that wonderful things can happen.

Thank you Rabbi for acknowledging the importance of the role of women's faith in daily life. Women often pray when men do not. We just don't talk about it, nor do we acknowledge women's daily prayers. Reply
The redeeming power of women is attributed to the story of "the golden calf." The women of Miriam's time refused to participate in the worship of it,when the men did. This is why women of that day were rewarded.Today it is known as rosh codesh, the 1st day of each month is a feminine holiday. Reply
women Amen to that conclusion. Reply
The women in Exodus are manifold
Shifra and Puah, the midwives, defy Pharaoh's order.
The mother and sister of Moses defy Pharaoh's order.
Pharaoh's own daughter defies Pharaoh's order.
Almost everyone who defies Pharaoh's order is female.
Later, Tziporah supports the need for circumcision and saves Moses' life.
And these females combine to preserve Moses and enable him to reach adulthood and to return alive to Egypt to fulfill the mission Gd gives him.
At the Exodus, the women bring their timbrels, knowing that they will be redeemed. The women refuse to donate gold to make an idol but DO donate gold to Gd's tabernacle.

Clarification, please. Todah raba Rabbi. I bought Bringing Heaven Down to Earth before I found your Daily Dose on Chabad.org. I enjoy both so much! Shalom... Reply
Re: Clarification, please
The Rebbe was referring principally to the deep and powerful faith of the Jewish women in Egypt. It was a faith that empowered them to rebel against the authorities and the Pharaoh, to raise a generation of children with faith, and to keep the flame of hope and belief in the future burning.
Faith is what creates a better future. Out of faith comes redemption. Today, as well, the principle bulwark of Jewish faith lies with the Jewish woman.

I don't see where history is repeating itself. The world is in a mess IMHO so how are women making things better? Reply
In many parts of the world women are still "abused house pets" like Thomas said. This situation has brought about a lot of pain and troubled, because these women are the ones that raise children. Why is this so? and will this change? Reply
Clarification, please
Rabbi, would you expound on this. First, how do you see the redeeming force of women in Exodus - specifically to what do you make reference? And second, the same question in relation to the women of today.
Thank you

God's example
God chose women to show his redeeming grace through....more than men.
God uses men to show his power.

It's only right to acknowledge-
when the Rabbi is right, especially if you had criticized him previously.
You are right again here, Rabbi Freeman:
Women play a prominent role in the redemption and repair of this oftentimes broken world in which we sojourn.
Jews accredit women with their very souls.
In all too many parts of the rest of the world, for all too long,-
women were often regarded as little more than abused housepets.
The world does still need to be redeemed from this error, for the damage done to the world by this error.
The Jewish covenant does have a 'leg up' in this regard because of women.

extra I guess that the extra dose of binah/understanding women are born with will always reflect extra emunah and bitachon. Reply
more woman more and more woman will seem to have faith due to the cost of inflation and rising food costs to feed their children in this country. the financial strains that are put on a family can draw one closer to G-d. Reply
@ Kathryn What good to hear about that story of the aboriginals. Reply
A woman will encompass a man So true! There is a prophecy in the book of the prophet Jeremiah, chapter 31:22
"For the LORD has created a new thing in the earth--
A woman will encompass a man."
Can someone please explain more clearly what this means.
Thank you,
Alma
