It seems like there are 2 different places that mention the release of a live bird during the cleansing process of tzaria, where a red thread has a part during the parshah.
At another time of year, 2 goats are presented, where one lives and the other is offered on the altar, and a red cloth is used.
Both the living seem to be cast out. Is there a connection between them, perhaps related to the time of year?
The connection would be that in both cases atonement for specific sins are being obtained.
