Getting an Aliyah
What to do and which blessings to recite when called up for an aliyah at the Torah reading.

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks (1948–2020) was a global religious leader, philosopher, award-winning author, and respected moral voice. If there is no Levi present, should a cohen be called for the 2nd aliyah or an Israelite?
If there is no Levi, then the Kohen who received the first aliyah receives the second one as well (it cannot be given to another Kohen).
