Hi Hakhel Leaders!
The Jewish year 5790 (2029-2030) is a Hakhel year, when Jews gather together to learn Torah, share inspiration, and unite as a people.
On Lag BaOmer we gather to celebrate Jewish unity, a centerpiece of the legacy of Rabbi Akiva, who taught that loving our fellows like ourselves is the great principle of the Torah. This dovetails perfectly with the year of Hakhel.
In addition to having fun outdoors, since Lag BaOmer is the day the Zohar was “born,” it’s most appropriate to study a portion of this book as well, alongside sharing whatever Torah thoughts or stories will work best for you and your guests.
The Rebbe encouraged that charity be given on this day in multiples of 18, and we’ve selected two charity-related stories, both of which are ideal to share with younger audiences.
Ready?
Here are the tools and tips you need to have a rip-roaring inspiration-heavy Lag BaOmer celebration like no other.
With wishes for a beautiful Lag BaOmer,
