Moses was eighty years old at the time, the year 2448 after creation. Moses passed on in 2488 on the seventh of Adar at the age of 120, 40 years later.

Now scripture (Exodus 7:7) writes that Moses was 80 when he approached Pharaoh, before the 10 Plagues. How is this to be reconciled? The Rebbe suggests that Moses was then in his 80th year, but did not yet turn 80 until a few weeks before the actual Exodus.1
