In answer to your question: YATHRIB is now called MEDINA. It is NOT the cradle of Judaism, therefore, your comparison below with the bayit's stone is totally wrong !
The Kabbah , while it is not far from Yathrib it is a place across called Mecca, You know the rest, Therefore again, , your comparison is definitely not correct because what was done in the Bayit is under the direction of H' years and years prior. to your reckoning. Reply

If you don't remember, please read your own post below again. So, this discussion is over. There is NOT a shred of connection between one stone (Kaaba) and the stone in the Bayit ,,and the purpose of each. As a Jewish educator I will continue protesting since this is a site of only Jewish learning. The 9th of Av is the saddest day on the calender for us Jews. It is the day that Jewish tradition says that many tragedies struck us, such as the sin of the spies, both Holy Temples being destroyed, the edict of the Spanish Inquisition of 1492, the start of World War I which of course eventually led to the devastating World War II, and so on. The 17th of Tammuz is when the siege of Jerusalem began that led to its destruction three weeks later on the 9th of Av Reply

well since the Jewish calendar is lunar while the secular calendar is solar, the two calendars do not necessarily always coincide with one another. This particular year, the 9th of Av happens to fall on this Thursday, July 23rd Reply

Well, bad things can happen any time, but on the 9th of Av, one must be extra careful about such things since the chances of something bad happening increases on that day Reply
