Walking humbly is walking tall. Dignity is the essence of humility and modesty. The splendor of humility is majestic and aristocratic. Humility that suppresses the human spirit and denies individual sovereignty is not humility at all. Does my humility make me feel dignified? Do I feel alive and vibrant?
Exercise for the day: Teach someone how humility and modesty enhance human dignity.

What is humility within its confinements and construction of those attributes? I don't quite understand your projections of humility.
Humility. When not Shem created the universe he has to make himself smaller to put everything else in if Hashem can make himself smaller so can we smaller in the sense that we make room and space for others four other people's emotions opinions and their physical space as well thinking about the comfort of others thinking about what you say before you say it thinking about not trampling people on your way down the stairs humility does not diminish oneself it just makes room for everybody else have a good day on this day of mourning
I can't imagine Hashem making Himself, as if He was ever made, "smaller," and none of what you've stated ascends to an understanding of humility.
R. Jacobson,
I understand fully how making oneself smaller to make space for others relates to humility and I am so pleased that you have stated it this way. I believe that this is the major problem in our world today. Many people think of humility as degrading themselves, maybe even as surrendering to be a doormat in order to please others. The way in the sense you are using smaller is love with boundaries, releasing selfishness in order to have peace by allowing people space to live as well. Continue your good and gracious teachings of Hashem. I deeply thank you and appreciate your loving advice.
