Sharing the Season of Joy

The Yahrzeit of the Rebbe Maharash falls just before Sukkos, when every Jew busily prepares for the upcoming festival. In recalling his life’s work, we see how the Rebbe Maharash gave up his personal comforts, and worked tirelessly to improve both the spiritual and physical lives of Russian Jewry.

At this festive time of year, we are reminded by his example, inspiring us to ensure that every Jew has what he needs, spiritually and materially, to experience the holiday joy.

The true joy of Sukkos can only be felt when it includes, “you, your sons, your daughters, your servants, your maids and the strangers within your gates.” Both in preparation for, and during, the holiday, we must bring the celebration of Sukkos to every Jew we can reach, so that they too may share in the joy of the season.
