When the Holy Temple stood in Jerusalem, every seven years the entire nation would gather there to hear the Torah read by the king and be inspired in the service of G-d. While the Temple may no longer stand in Jerusalem, it continues to exist spiritually within the heart of every Jew.

This melody was a favorite of the Rebbe Maharash and is known today as Lechatchila Ariber. Its tune and its name represent his famous adage on dealing with challenges: "The world says, 'If you can't crawl under an obstacle, try to climb over,' but I say, 'At the outset, one should climb over!'"

“May the Temple be rebuilt speedily in our days, and give us our portion of your Torah.” This song was first taught by the Rebbe on 28 Nissan, 5714 – 1954.
