The first commandment in the Torah is to have children. When G-d created Adam and Eve, He blessed them and said: “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the sky and over all the beasts that tread upon the earth.”

In some U.S. states, public schools begin their school day with a moment of silence, a time during which students can reflect. This presents a perfect opportunity for students to think about a Higher Authority.

“G-d did not create even one detail of His creation in vain.” The talents and opportunities G-d grants a person in life are meant to be utilized and maximized to the fullest; if one doesn’t do so, the entire order of creation suffers…

G‑d created plants and animals with the ability to procreate – to perpetuate themselves and reflect G‑d’s own Infinitude. Man, too, was granted the remarkable ability to reproduce, but was additionally blessed with the ability to harness and expand the infinite powers hidden within the rest of nature.

The Torah does not tell us the exact times when many important events occurred. Nevertheless, we are told that Pharoah commanded the Jews to leave Egypt exactly at midnight on the 15th of Nissan. Further, the Torah narrates the exact moment they actually left: The next day, precisely at noon – not delaying even for the “blink of an eye”.

This Niggun, composed by the Alter Rebbe, is sung only on special, holy occasions.
