Challah & Mothers

I have been making Challah for a few years I am a single Jewish University Student ...
Needless to say I love to make challah but to make it every week would lead to me wasting supplies. I am an expert at it since I have been making it on and off for six years.
ie:
my issue is that I don't want to throw away good bread every week because my family doesn't eat it. it. Everyone in my synagogue says after sundown / Havdallah one should throw away any remaining challah. How much challah is one suppose to consumer during shabbat?
Also, What is an outlet for my need to make challah*(yet not waste it)? Reply
