First 10/10!! :) Reply

I scored a 9/10. The only one I got wrong was in thinking that Adam survived Noah's flood. I guess I thought that because Adam lived such a long life, but the math still doesn't work out Reply

10/10 I have just stated reading the Bible cover to cover in one year again. I'm still in Genesis so that quiz was easy for me now! Later in the year when I'm in Kings and Chronicles I might forget some of these answers!. Reply

10/10. I agree with John as the total number of Adam & Eve's sons and daughters are not specified. However, G*d always tells us what we need to know. Reply

Rie Toria South Pacific April 20, 2024
in response to Paul Walaszek:

Adam was not the father of all living as one the questions asked. That means, one of their sons, was not his. However, the quiz also said that Adam named his wife Eve because "she" was the mother of all living.

An intresting fact:
Cain was 1 of twins
Hevel was 1 of triplets
I think their names where: Balbira, Shulamis, Kalmana but i dont remember which one is Cains twin and which ones are Hevel´s triplets Reply

John London August 25, 2023
in response to Anonymous:

The Torah records Cain and Abel as the first two sons of Adam and Eve, Seth as the third, followed by an unspecified number of other sons and daughters. Any other children born before Seth would have had to be girls. Reply

Out of the 930 years that Adam lived do we know how many he lived in the Garden as opposed to how many he lived after being cast out of it? Reply

From the Talmud it would appear that he was banished on the day Reply

I'm sorry but I don't understand this answer. It doesn't seem to be complete. Reply

John London December 14, 2023
in response to Rabbi Golomb :

What do you mean by "it would appear"? Because would the Torah say "Behold it was very good" if Adam had already sinned, had to be banished, and the ground cursed?
What are the words that the Talmud actually uses about this? Reply

Rabbi Golomb December 14, 2023
in response to John:

Three hours before Shabbat began.
There is a view that identifies the Tree of Knowledge as being a grape vine. The prohibition was only until Shabbat. So Adam could have made wine and waited till Shabbat and then made kiddush. 'If only he'd waited three hours' say the holy books then the world would have been so different. There is a Chassidic essay by the first Rebbe of Chabad Rabbi Shneur Zalman where he discusses what would life would have been like had Adam never eaten from the Tree of Knowledge. That's another story. Reply

I think Adam lived as long as he did , to serve His Majesty's Purpose in establishing a Hierarchy among Human Beings that would establish order and well being throughout the ages for his descendants. Men whom Adonai could trust to fulfill His purposes and serve to protect the weaker ones and stay faithful up to Noah and then..start over.. Reply
