I regard the closeness that we come to the arrival of the Mashiach as an asymptotic function which is always approaching, but which has never quite reached its end result. This is because we don't know exactly when he will arrive, and the institution of our being forewarned by Elijah the Prophet who will announce this event only adds to the problem of a better determined arrival time. May he come in our days! Reply
