NO ONE, NO ONE, thinks that a "vort" is a 'Torah themed speech given at a wedding, etc! Everyone knows it means an engagement celebration. Reply

I was thinking they mean, "Torah -themed" means d'var Torah דבר תורה
Which is what you're supposed to do if you're 3 people or more ( or ten, don't know the laws). (They mean men). D'var Torah is important in every event. For vort the "celebration" is the fathers shaking hands. And I think they drink wine, no idea. They told me to stay with my mom and the ladies.
