Joshua 24:32
"And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph."
Is Shechem in or part of Hebron? Reply

Rabbi question 12 does not contain the right answer. You either were intending to write Jacob not Josef or you don't know that Yosef Hatsadik is buried in Schem, which I doubt. Plz pm me Reply

Rita Forbes Clinton January 9, 2025
in response to Joel David Friedman:

Good Morning, Joel
It appears your point may be correct. According to the Torah, Jacob is buried in Hebron, and Yosef is buried in Schem. I am sure that there is a plausible answer to concern. Until your question is answered by a Rabbi, we can have peace and be rest assured that both Joseph and Jacob are resting in the "Promise land" of their fathers.

Have a nice day, Reply

in response to Joel David Friedman:

He was embalmed and buried in Egypt, in a lead coffin at the bottom of the Nile, but his coffin was later miraculously taken out of Egypt and transported to Shechem. The way it was raised from the bottom of the Nile is its own story with a twist. Reply

14/14 right. I LOVE the story of Joseph & Moses. They's my fave Bible stories, so these questions were easy. Thank you, Rabbi for these quizzes. They're so much fun! Reply
