Heroines of every sort have always been my thing, especially heroines with things in common with myself. I was happy to score 10/10 on this quiz. Reply

Wow. Didn't think I'd get that many correct answers. That was fun. Reply

Rachel Schechter June 1, 2021

While weaning her father from idolatry might have been an unconscious motive for stealing his idols, the primary reason was Rachel’s anger toward her father for his deceit re her marriage to Jacob. Strip him of his power; hurt him as he hurt her. Please don’t doubt this. Thanks. Reply

That is the one I got wrong. And I agree with you. Men have NO IDEA what its like! Reply

in response to Rivka Rachum:

i dont think that was rachels reasoning. there are many other ways she could have taken revenge i.e. steal other possessions, cut him off from his grandchildren, kill him etc. just remember that the 4 mothers were great tzadeikeses, and i doubt that she would do anything vengeful against her father- the torah commands to respect parents no matter what and she is not an exception and probably excelled in this mitzvah. if it was anyone else i would agree with you, but rachel was a righteous woman who no doubt would not act on her negative feelings. Reply

Rivka Rachum WEST ORANGE August 29, 2024
in response to gateshead jew:

I disagree completely. Righteous women act upon their negative feelings all the time. How else do you explain Yael and Devorah? In modern times, acting on negative feelings is sometimes the only way to get good things done. Reply
