Plush white carpets lay upon the floor of the newly renovated home.

The mother of the family distributed a small jar of honey to each of her children in honor of the festival of Rosh Hashanah. As she handed the honey to her eager children, she blessed them that their coming year should be as sweet as the honey.

A little while later, the youngest child ran to her mother, sobbing and choking on her tears. After calming the child with that special ‘mother’s touch,’ she asked her daughter what had happened. The child bashfully admitted, “My jar of honey fell and cracked, and the honey leaked onto the brand new white carpet!”

The mother patted her child lovingly and replied, “That’s alright, sweetheart. I’ll buy you another jar of honey.”

“I’ve learned to pick my battles;
I ask myself, ‘Will this matter one year from now?
How about one month? One week? One day?’”

“Sometimes, 30% off means paying 70%
for something you really don’t need.”
