“You know, you always manage to tell people a ‘gut vort’ (a thought provoking teaching),” commented a young man to a renowned lecturer. “And you always add that the purpose of hearing a vort is that it not remain a ‘gut vort.’ Rather, the inspiring thought should be internalized and practiced, resulting in a ‘good deed.’ Yet you yourself never practice what you preach?!”
The lecturer reflected for a moment, stroking his long white beard, and replied, “Hmmm… That’s a ‘gut vort!’”
