As far as I now Miriam is also called a Prophetes in Tanach Reply

Dr. Don Lyles OAKLEY July 18, 2026

I am a Christian that really enjoys your quizzes. I usually do well on Bible tests like Deborah. But horrible on quizzes with Jewish themes. I learn more with your Jewish themes Reply

Yiscah Sarah Nairobi July 18, 2026

Baruch Hashem 😊 8/10 Reply

DEBORAH Forest Hills NY July 16, 2026

9/10 - missed the 1st one. Devorah is my namesake, so (whew!) I'm relieved that I knew mostly everything associated with this great biblical heroine. They say that your name is representative of who you are. In fact, I too, enjoy writing poetry, though of course, cannot be compared to her level of wisdom .... furthermore, I do love dates(medjool)! Reply

J Andrew Belk Dallas July 16, 2026

I don't agree that Esther wrote the Book of Esther; throughout research the book's author remains anonymous. Reply

Erika Germany July 16, 2026

7/10 I thought I could have done better, because I'm interested in the women of the Bible and how HaShem sees women. Reply

Cyndy LoGuercio Dade City, Florida July 16, 2026

8/10 I didn't know as much about this one as I should have, but now I do. Thank you for the lessons. Reply

Cheryl Freewalt Ohio City, Ohio USA July 16, 2026

7/10 Thank you for this wonderful quiz. What you learn you don't know as well as you think you do. Reply

Deborah Montreal July 16, 2026

Only 6/10
I’ve learn that in high school ,long time ago 😁 Reply

Elena New York July 15, 2026

10/10, but I’m not surprised. She is one of my heroes. The story of Devorah is one that I feel is under-represented in its influence on the role of Jewish women in orthodox society. Reply

Raymond West Hollywood July 16, 2026
in response to Elena:

I think it is with her in mind that the Talmudic Sages remarked how "Where there is no man, strive to be a man." One application of this is that while normally women do not take the leadership role of an entire nation, that in Deborah's case it was accepted because there was no good man to fill that role at the time Reply

Kristine Gate July 15, 2026

the answers to question 1 is a bit suspect - calling Sarah a prophetess? Reply

Raymond West Hollywood July 16, 2026
in response to Kristine Gate:

Sarah is said to have greater prophetic powers than her husband Abraham Reply

Professor Dickshtein SA July 16, 2026
in response to Kristine Gate:

Yes, indeed! We see Hashem tells Avraham, "Whatever Sarah says to you, hearken to her voice," since she exceeded Avraham in her prophetic powers! Reply

Erika Germany July 16, 2026
in response to Professor Dickshtein:

Can you explain that to me, how Sarah exceeded Avraham in her prophetic powers?? Reply

Professor Dickshtein SA July 16, 2026
in response to Erika:

Regretfully, I cannot. It is far beyond the scope of my qualifications to attempt an explanation as to the excess of prophetic powers, Sarah's or otherwise. To do so would be a gamble on my intellectual integrity, something which, as a professor, I can hardly hazard. Reply

Angela wilder Brooklyn July 14, 2026

10/10 Reply

One day I am going to get all ten right.

Shalom. Reply

I got 8 out of 10 correct. Thank you Rabbi Posner, for giving us a new quiz. Reply

Raymond West Hollywood July 14, 2026

I scored 9/10. The only one I got wrong was the name of Deborah's husband. I actually did much better on this quiz than I had anticipated Reply

Mike GLEN ALLEN July 14, 2026

9 out of 10 for this gentile! Missed the first one! Reply

Lll NYC July 14, 2026

I….bombed. 6/10. I do wonder what it means in the Tanaka when certain names are repeated, Reply

Susan Levitsky July 14, 2026

3/10 I don't know much about Deborah. Her name means bee. Since biblical names have retroactive meaning, I thought she kept bees. Reply

Raymond West Hollywood July 14, 2026
in response to Susan Levitsky:

well perhaps Deborah was as sweet as honey Reply

Erika Germany July 16, 2026
in response to Susan Levitsky:

No, she didn't keep bees. It's a hint to honey, which is a "picture" for the Word of G-d. Reply

Faigie Rabin London July 14, 2026

10/10 Yay Reply
