I think what was most amazing in the interview, or should I say story, was how many bends and turns as well as miles (distance) covered in the story. Heshem was surely directing. What a story of faith, courage, and patience! It is now part of my memory. Thank you so much for sharing it. Reply

Just a quick comment.
I watched the whole thing -- in one sitting! -- which is NOT typical for me.
I usually read words, either on a page or on a screen.
[So] ... it's pretty unusual for me to spend a solid hour -- ('plus' a little!) -- in front of one web based "podcast" (or whatever this [video] 'episode' is called).

I "used to" think that the term "podcast", ... kinda *implied* "audio only".
Is that now "History"? Is it "No Longer True"? [Was it "ever" true?]

I enjoyed this;
But ... No big 'deep' philosophical (or mystical) comments (from me) at this time.

Here is one small (off-topic, perhaps?) comment:
The oldest son -- (Shneur Zalman) -- of my rabbi and rebbetzin was born on yud-aleph Tishrei (the 11th; right after Yom Kippur).
For some reason, I thought about that ["Yom Huleddet"] when I learned that this couple got MARRIED on the day after Yom Kippur.

One more (maybe even MORE off-topic?) : Their youngest son (Levi) was born on the 13 of Tishrei! Reply

I would like to see an interview of Chaim Yaakov, Ayelet's husband, to hear his inspiring story in his own words. Reply

Since Chaim Yaakov is from Puerto Rico, maybe his mother's side comes from one of the Jewish families brought to Puerto Rico by Columbus. I believe there were originally hundreds of Jews there, but they assimilated into the Catholic society.

It would be interesting for Chaim Yaakov to ask his mother if her great grandmother practiced any customs that were passed down through the generations, but the meaning wasn't known, such as lighting candles on Friday night...

It may be that his Jewish soul found its way back hundreds of years after his family fled Spain during the Spanish Inquisition... Reply
