On this particular Shavuous, can I make an early Shabbos/Shavuos?
In the event that it will make it easier for your family, there is no problem with bringing in Shabbos earlier, even though Friday is Shavuos. In fact, there are some who say it is preferable to do that.
Where can I find the trainer that will help me learn the trop for the Torah portion read during Shavuot? I know it comes from Shemot. Thanks.

After a long search, I found it was in YITRO, the fourth aliyah, beginning Chapter 19. This portion is in the book of Shemot (Exodus) but not in its first portion.

Are you allowed to cook on Shavuot?
Yes, unless it is Shabbat. But it must be done from a preexisting flame, i.e. if you leave your oven or burner on before Yom tov. And the food cooked must be for that day. In order to cook on a Friday Yom tov for Shabbat you need to first make an Eruv tavshilin.

Can you explain why Jewish tradition holds that the Torah was given on Shavuot?
In the JPS Tanakh, Exodus 19:1 says, "On the third new moon after the Israelites had gone forth from the land of Egypt . . ."
Since Exodus 19 describes the giving of the 10 commandments as being on the third new moon (or third month) after leaving Egypt, and a month was approximately 30 days, the third new moon would have occurred approximately 90 days after leaving Egypt (on Passover). However, Shavuot occurs 49 days after Passover, NOT 90 days. Can you clear up my confusion? Thanks.
What was the moon like when we left Mitzrayim?
It was at the beginning of the third month hence counting 50 days from 16 of the 1st month (one day afte Passover = 6 of3ed month = Shavuot
#1 "third new moon since" the month that " the Jews left Egypt" and Passover was the 15th of that month
#2 they came to Sinai desert that day and received the torah 6 days later
conclusion: 15th of nissan until 6th of sivan =49 days
If we left on the first new moon, 30 days later is the second, and 60 days later is the third. Which means the command was given and we left on or about the 11th day of the first new moon but we had been given the mitzvah prior to the new moon.
Why does Shavuoth, as one of the three major pilgrim festivals, have no date?
I believe no date was needed, as it was based on the Pesach/Passover holiday which does have a specific time; the fifteenth of the month of Nisan. We begin counting the Omer for 49 days beginning on the 16th of Nisan, and on the 50th day, we celebrate Shavuoth.
I am a non Jew becoming very interested in Jewish life and the Torah. I ordered a Tanach and recieved it today just in time for Shavuot.
I am non Jew as well. I believe we gain so much insight from learning from the Jewish life and the relationship with G-d.
Why no tablets with the seven laws for the Noahides?
It's not just the seven Noahide Laws, most of the 613 commandments of the Torah are not engraved on the tablets either. Rather, the stone tablets were a unique concept reserved just for the 10 commandments and nothing else.
Still, the tablets hint to all of the rest that is not engraved in them as well. How so? Between the two tablets there are a total of 620 letters, which hint to the 613 commandments and the 7 Noahide Laws.

In other words, the stone tablets are a unique concept and the reason they are necessary is in order to serve as continuous evidence of the binding relationship between G-d and the Jewish people. This is also why they traveled together with the Jewish people throughout their journeys in the desert at all times and is also why the ark which housed them is called the "Ark of Testimony".
