Disc 46, Program 182
Event Date: 12 Tammuz 5743 - June 23, 1983
Those working to free the millions trapped behind the Iron Curtain must not forget to free themselves, as well. Man was created with an inclination to do good, as well as an inclination to do the opposite. Man is also a social creature. When one sees in the world that others have used brute force and corruption to “successfully” achieve their goals, he may rationalize that by "temporarily" following in their footsteps, he could gain power and authority, which he can later use to promote morality. Such an approach creates an "Iron Curtain" that blocks the Good Inclination from guiding the person in the straight path. One must proceed against all adversity with trust in G-d's help and in His holy principles. "Man is created to toil." By taking a staunch moral stance against injustice, the individual fulfills his role in this world and becomes a light unto many. |
