The Ripple Effect: Main Synagogue, 27 Cheshvan, 5749 • November 7, 1988The International Conference of Shluchim takes place every year on the last weekend of Cheshvan. The Rebbe’s address to these emissaries was its highlight.
The International Conference of Shluchim contains a two-fold idea: that it is worldwide, encompassing the entire globe; and that the entire world resides within the heart of every Jew. Whether one is a child, a reserved person, or active in one’s community, his behavior as prescribed by the Torah helps you to convert every detail of the world into one illuminated with G-dliness.

Whether one is a child, a reserved person, or active in one’s community, his behavior as prescribed by the Torah helps you to convert every detail of the world into one illuminated with G-dliness. In addition to the ability shared by every Jew to affect the entire world, there are certain Jews who have been given the responsibility of leading a particular area or community as Shluchim. Their work begins within themselves, yet it has the potential to affect the entire world. As their words are spread from person to person until they have reached the most distant corner.
