The verse states: “They shall build me a Temple, and I will dwell within them.” Our sages teach us that “within them” refers to every Jewish heart. Each and every single one of us, and the entire Jewish people, all share the mission of bringing the light of Judaism out to the entire world.

The Torah reading of Ha’azinu consists of a song delivered by Moses on the last day of his life. In it he exhorts the Jewish people to be faithful to G-d, and calls upon the heavens and earth to bear witness.

In a Jewish household, the wife and mother is called the mainstay of the home. But when it comes to the month of Elul, every Jew should strive to fulfill this role.
