On the 17th of Kislev in 1980, the Rebbe held a farbrengen in the afternoon. Following this unusual occurrence, the Rebbe addressed chasidim as they prepared for the afternoon services.

My father-in-law, the Rebbe, writes: Every Jewish soul is bound to a letter in Torah. Whenever a new Torah scroll is to be completed, the announcement of the upcoming celebration reawakens a Jew to this deep-rooted core of his soul.
