Numbers, the Book of: The fourth of the Five Books of Moses, relates the story of the Israelites' sojourn in the desert. The main points include: the consecration of the Levites and the Kohanim, the Spies' trip to Canaan, Korah's mutiny, Balaam's attempt to curse the Israelites, and the Israelites’ war against Midian.
