A diversity of Makkifim of Kedushah effect us in a variety of ways. It may happen, for example, that a person suddenly feels a powerful urge to do Teshuvah, seemingly coming from nowhere. Indeed, every morning there emerges an undefined stimulus from above motivating us in the service G‑d.

The impact of these Makkifim depend, in large measure, on our state of preparedness to be effected by them. The negative counterpart of these Makkifim (klippah) are manifest in evil thoughts and imaginings.
