Oops! 3/10, my worst score ever! And I thought it would be easy. I didnt know as much as I thought I did! Reply

9/10, missed #10 Reply

The question on Tefillin during Musaf was a trick question without the appropriate answer option. :)

If the wearer's ancestors wore Tefillin during Musaf, he should do likewise. On the other hand, if his ancestors removed Tefillin before Musaf, he should do likewise. Reply

It's been a long time since I went to Shul. Don't get me wrong: I love G_d; I just have a problem with His groupies.

There, I said it. Reply

Hi Jim
I live three hours drive from the closest Shul I wish I could be one of the groupies its hard loving G_d and always being on your own. Reply

Raymond West Hollywood October 12, 2025
in response to rose:

Perhaps you might consider moving much closer to a shul Reply

Rivka Rachum WEST ORANGE October 31, 2025
in response to Raymond :

Shuls are usually located in neighborhoods without apartment buildings, which makes it impossible for singles to move closer. It is much more expensive to live near a shul of any denomination, and that includes Chabad. That is why I drive to shul. You may see that as wrong. I see it as a necessity, to be part of a community. Reply

Raymond West Hollywood November 2, 2025
in response to Rivka Rachum:

You make some interesting observations there. I had not realized it, but you are right about shuls being built in places close to private homes but far from apartment buildings. That goes along with the idea that Jewish community life is much more amenable to families than it is to single people. Now, surely married life is a better way to live than is a single life, but it is not like some of us can easily have a choice in the matter. Some of us want to be married, but for whatever reasons or circumstances, marriage is something that never happened to us. And so we singles are stuck, with nowhere to go, unless we bend the rules a little for ourselves to fit our circumstances Reply

Hello,

Thank you for this quiz on Musaf prayers. I had to do a little studying, but was able to achieve a 7/10.

Blessings, Reply

Raymond West Hollywood September 10, 2025

I scored an unimpressive 7/10, but hey, I never claimed to be an expert on the detailed procedures of this non-daily prayer Reply

Mark Israel September 9, 2025

Purim in Jerusalem may be on Shabbat, in which case Musaf would be said on Purim. Likewise Shabbat Chanukah. Reply
