Dear Rabbi,

Excellent quiz this week, I scored 10/10 (100%)!
I couldn’t sleep, so I woke up very early to read this week’s Parshah while staying on the Edisto Island in South Carolina, USA for a week. I learned from searching with Google that there is not one synagogue on the island. Maybe, that’s why I woke up at 3:00AM to study my Torah lessons during nighttime and before sunrise too.

Peace,
Deborah Reply

Question 9
I believe the answer was partially, somewhat incorrect, as though it is true that there were no suitable women to marry where he was, and it is noted in verse 46, however, the reason for leaving was according to 27:41-45 was the first answer given: Fleeing due to thy brothers fury. Reply

Ezra ben-Pesach WOODSTOCK, NY November 19, 2025
in response to Ron:

Ron- You are of course correct and thank you for posting! Reply

Deborah Philadelphia November 22, 2025
in response to Ron:

Ron, you are correct about Esau’s anger towards Jacob and the plot to kill him. Just like his mother they were very careful in what or how to explain situations to Issac. So, their mother Rebecca, presented the poor choice of wife situation for Jacob to Isaac (who was dying) to avoid upsetting him about the true reason Jacob should leave them. While Esau decided not to kill Jacob until the mourning period of his father‘s death was over. Understand the mother and son, especially Rebecca, did not want to disrespect Issac directly, both were cunning souls.

Therefore, Ron, reread the question, because it referred to Rebecca’s side of things not Esau’s mindset (somewhat).

Peace,
Deborah Reply

I scored 9/10. The only question i got wrong was the one about what Rebecca told her son Jacob. I felt confident choosing the option that Jacob must flee from his brother Esau, but apparently i was wrong. I am surprised Reply

I just looked again, and I am pretty sure that I originally chose the right answer, so I wonder why it marked me wrong on question #9 Reply

Rabbi,

I finished this week’s Torah reading very early today. I took the quiz directly afterwards to see how I would score: 10/10!

I love the weekly Parshah studies and the lessons from G-d the Creator of heaven, earth, water, the vegetable kingdom, the animal kingdom, and humankind.

The ancient analyses of the Torah writings/historical records are so vivid and useful for everyday living. I have become a Noahide/Christian (because I am not Jewish) from reading the Parshah. Thank you Rabbi for the daat from this lower world to understand the keter (Infinite Light) from the higher world.

I just don’t get lessons like this (with concrete understanding in a Christian or Baptist service).

Peace,
Deborah Reply

Raymond West Hollywood November 20, 2025
in response to Deborah :

We Jews have an unbroken Torah tradition of several thousands of years, dating all the way back to the Revelation at Sinai. That is something no other religion has, which goes a long way in explaining why we Jews have the finest, deepest, most reliable understanding of the Torah that there is Reply

Rabbi,
An excellent coverage of the Parshah. Reply

Jackie Pankey Ellijay January 9, 2024

Look at that 10/10 on your Jewish quiz rabbi. A gentile knows more about your Torah than some of your Jewish students. Oh, how I wish I knew all of what you know as a Jewish person. What a privilege you have with all of the promises of God given to your people. The insight into scripture that a lot of Jewish people are just born with. I love The Lord and I love His Word and His chosen people. I pray your nation always! Reply
