Even if a non-seminal discharge issues from a man’s body against his will, it can, in certain cases, render him ritually defiled. This is so because even inadvertent discharges are caused by improper attitudes that the man willfully adopted.
Similarly, if a person immerses his thoughts repeatedly and deeply in negative notions, negativity can begin to influence him against his will.
Nonetheless, the Torah offers a person suffering from non-seminal discharges the opportunity to regain ritual purity, by offering up the appropriate sacrifice. The same applies to someone who has unfortunately overly immersed himself in negative ways of thinking: he must never despair of himself. Even if he feels that negativity is gaining the upper hand, he can always overcome it and reinstate his former innocence.1
