During the next six days, G‑d had the Jewish people prepare for the Revelation of the Giving of the Torah. On the morning of the 6th of Sivan, G‑d began to reveal Himself on Mount Sinai.
The Power of Enthusiasm
וְהַר סִינַי עָשַׁן כֻּלּוֹ מִפְּנֵי אֲשֶׁר יָרַד עָלָיו ה' בָּאֵשׁ וגו':
(שמות יט:יח)
The whole of Mount Sinai was asmoke because G‑d had descended upon it in fire.
Exodus 19:18
The fact that the mountain was asmoke indicated that the Giving of the Torah enabled the physical world to be affected by spirituality. This teaches us that the key to transforming all aspects of life – space, time, and consciousness – is making sure that all aspects of our religious life are imbued with “fire,” i.e., warmth and enthusiasm for G‑d and His Torah.1
I think we can use the life of Dovid HaMelech as the standard about when the Torah was given. Moshe added a day and that put Shavous on Sabbath since Dovid lived exactly 70 years to the date like Moshe lived 120 years to the day. To set the giving of on the day all fell because of a piece of fruit doesn't make sense. Personally I think one of the biggest tragedies the Master and Sages made when setting the calendar was placing the one observance HaShem gave us with no exact date to it. It should have been set as the Torah dictates. It can be on the 5th, the 6th or the 7th. We're "added" or "changed the Torah and I don't think whom ever did it was a Prophet.
