For centuries, being engaged with Torah meant being of an exceptional mind and travelling to study under the tutelage of a rabbi and sage. However, the Baal Shem Tov, and the Rebbes who followed, showed us a different way. By traveling to and visiting many Jewish communities, they brought the beauty of Torah to those who otherwise didn’t know of it.

Rabbi Machluf Krispin is married to the granddaughter of the Moroccan Torah sage, Rabbi Yisrael Abuchatzeira, famously known as “Baba Sali.” At his first private audience with the Rebbe, he related a fascinating story of his grandfather.

An address to the children of Camp Gan Israel of New York: Camp ‘Gan Israel’ is named after Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov, founder of the Chassidic movement – for through studying and living by his teachings, the Baal Shem Tov lives on.
