In 1975, Rabbi Yekusiel Yehudah Halberstam, the Sanz-Klausenburger Rebbe, opened a not-for-profit hospital in Netanya, Israel. He appointed Rabbi Gershon Lieder to oversee the project while it was still in the early stages of development, and as the eventual director of the hospital. As part of their effort, the fundraising committee decided to visit the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Brooklyn, to ask for his assistance and advice.

Mrs. Rochel Fogelman led a group of women from Worcester, Massachusetts, on a visit to New York and to an audience with the Rebbe that went down in history. (year 1953)
