Delilah: Philistine wife of Samson. The Philistines offered her 55,000 pieces of silver to report the secret of her husband’s strength, and she complied.
The Philistines made Samson prisoner. Delilah cut his hair and his strength was gone. He pulled at the pillars and the whole edifice collapsed.
As told in Judges 13-16 and the Talmud
Samson was a nazarite who was endowed by G‑d with herculean strength, which he used to fight the Philistines.
