Seven, Swearing, Satiation: Letters and Numbers of Torah - Bo
Three times in the Torah the word "ha-shvi-i" (the seventh) is missing a letter yud. (The first time is in this week's portion in Exodus 12:15.) When spelled this way, the word may also be read as "shavua" (oath) or "soveia" (satiated.) What is the connection between seven, swearing, and satiation, and how do they describe the process of the soul's descent into a body?

This week's Parshah Rabbi Raskin is most erudite. He also explained the missing "Yud" well enough for a woman like me to understand portions of his address. I would like to see more videos featuring the sermons of Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin. Reply

A Great Torah Scholar I personally knew Rabbi J.J. Hecht (Yaakov
Yehuda) who was a real big Chabad Rabbi
and Torah Scholar and also very very close
to The Lubavitcher Rebbe (Rabbi Menachem
Mendel Schneerson).
Rabbi Aron Raskin is Rabbi J.J. Hecht's
grandchild on his Mother's side. After having
watched several of Rabbi Raskin's Torah lesson videos and having read his Torah books, I can truly say that he is carrying on
in a magnificent way the legacy of his grandfather Rabbi J.J. Hecht, who is now up
in heaven and getting great pleasure from
his grandchild, Rabbi Aron Raskin.
All I can say is keep it up Rabbi Raskin
