Loved your lecture...but you should know that the pearlman story is simply an urban legend. Actually Rabbi Bryski makes reference to this story in one of his lectures (i believe it was on "Courage...which was a fantastic lecture by the way) and he actually states at the commencement of the story that he does not know if it is a true story BUT that the story illustrates courage...(he says it better than i can). In any case thought you'd be interested in going to snopes...it's on there.
