Thank you Rabbi. I am busy compiling ancient Southern Guni names/words that are Bantu that are of paleo Hebrew pronunciation and same meaning. I got hundreds of words now gearing up for a thousand. RBQ (רבק) RIBQÂH (רִבְקָה) in southern bantu is called Rhinqa (To trap, tie around or snare). You see Rabbi whats puzzling us the bantu is how the hell did we get all this hebrew names in our language.Who was our father guni??Where did he come from. Why are we called the Guni tribe. Why is our culture and language so different to Kushitic peoples. Why are archeologists, scientists, linguists so clue less about our history and origins? Well no one is going to tell us because our ancestors are long gone with all the information. What we must do now is we must seek answers ourselves through the almighty. The early colonizers mentioned this in their books and letters to their kings when they stepped foot to africa. In the times we living in the books and letters are rubbished but now we have knowledg Reply
Rabbi Raskin, thank you for this wonderful videos. I was born into a catholic family and later in life I learned about Judaism, which I do my best to follow. For this reason, my wife and I decided to name one of our daughters Sarah and the youngest one Rivkah.
Now, my question, or request, is not directly connected to this video but, could you talk about the meaning of my name? My name is Manuel, which I believe is derived from the romanized name of Immanuel. I know having a good name is very important and I really wanted to know. Thanks in advance!

Immanuel is not really a name, but part of a phrase, in Isaiah 8:10:
עֻצוּ עֵצָה וְתֻפָר דַּבְּרוּ דָבָר וְלֹא יָקוּם כִּי עִמָּנוּ אֵל׃
Hatch a plot—it shall be foiled; agree on (an aggressive) action—it shall not succeed, for with us is God!
(For with us is God = ki imanu El)
In other words, Isaiah is saying that despite the non-Israelite nations wanting to wipe out the People of Israel, G-d is with the Israelites and we will survive; we are an eternal people.
It is a Prophetic affirmation of our ongoing spiritual victory over anti-semitism, sung by many Jews after each of the three daily prayer sessions.

Thank you for this video. I would like to know which of the spelling is the original translation for Rivkah.
Is it Rebecca or Rebekah?
Thank you!
