אמִזְמ֗וֹר לְדָ֫וִ֥ד יְהֹוָ֨ה | שְׁמַ֬ע תְּפִלָּתִ֗י הַֽאֲזִ֥ינָה אֶל־תַּֽחֲנוּנַ֑י בֶּֽאֱמֻנָֽתְךָ֥ עֲ֜נֵ֗נִי בְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָ: |
| with Your faith: to realize the promise that You promised me. |

באמונתך:
להאמין הבטחה שהבטחתני:
|
| 2And do not come to judgment with Your servant, for no living being will be innocent before You. |
|
בוְאַל־תָּב֣וֹא בְ֖מִשְׁפָּט אֶת־עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ כִּ֚י לֹֽא־יִצְדַּ֖ק לְפָנֶ֣יךָ כָל־חָֽי: |
| 3For an enemy pursued my soul; he crushed my soul to the earth; he has made me dwell in dark places like those who are long dead. |
|
גכִּ֥י רָ֘דַ֚ף אוֹיֵ֨ב | נַפְשִׁ֗י דִּכָּ֣א לָאָ֣רֶץ חַיָּתִ֑י הֽוֹשִׁ֘יבַ֥נִי בְ֜מַֽחֲשַׁכִּ֗ים כְּמֵ֘תֵ֥י עוֹלָֽם: |
| For an enemy pursued my soul: That is to say: If I have sinned before You, behold, I have suffered. This psalm was recited as referring to all of Israel in Babylon. |

כי רדף אויב נפשי:
כלומר אם חטאתי לך הרי לקיתי וכנגד כל ישראל נאמר מזמור זה:

| 4And my spirit enwrapped itself upon me; within me my heart is appalled. |
|
דוַתִּתְעַטֵּ֣ף עָלַ֣י רוּחִ֑י בְּ֜תוֹכִ֗י יִשְׁתּ֘וֹמֵ֥ם לִבִּֽי: |
| is appalled: Heb. ישתומם, an expression of daze and astonishment, like (Ezek. 3:15): “and I remained there overwhelmed (משמים) among them seven days.” Also (II Sam. 13:20): “and Tamar sat, overwhelmed (ושוממה).” |

| 5I remember the days of yore; I meditate over all Your works; I speak of the work of Your hands. |

הזָ֘כַ֚רְתִּי יָמִ֨ים | מִקֶּ֗דֶם הָגִ֥יתִי בְכָל־פָּֽעֳלֶ֑ךָ בְּמַֽעֲשֵׂ֖ה יָדֶ֣יךָ אֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַ: |
| I remember the days of yore: when You performed for us many wondrous miracles. |

זכרתי ימים מקדם:
שהפלית לנו נסים רבי':
|
| 6I spread out my hands to You; my heart is like a weary land to You forever. |
|
ופֵּרַ֣שְׂתִּי יָדַ֣י אֵלֶ֑יךָ נַפְשִׁ֓י | כְּאֶֽרֶץ־עֲיֵפָ֖ה לְךָ֣ סֶֽלָה: |
| like a weary land: in exile. |

| 7Answer me quickly, O Lord, my spirit pines. Do not hide Your countenance from me, lest I be likened to those who descend into the pit. |
|
זמַ֘הֵ֚ר עֲנֵ֨נִי | יְהֹוָה֘ כָּֽלְתָ֪ה ר֫וּחִ֥י אַל־תַּסְתֵּ֣ר פָּנֶ֣יךָ מִמֶּ֑נִּי וְ֜נִמְשַׁ֗לְתִּי עִם־יֹ֥רְדֵי בֽוֹר: |
| my spirit pines: If one longs and does not attain, it is called the pining of the eyes and the pining of the spirit. |

כלתה רוחי:
המתאוה ואינו משיג קרוי כליון עינים וכליון רוח:
|
| 8Let me hear Your kindness in the morning, for I hope in You; let me know the way in which I am to go, for to You I have lifted up my soul. |
|
חהַשְׁמִ֘יעֵ֚נִי בַבֹּ֨קֶר | חַסְדֶּךָ֘ כִּי־בְךָ֪ בָ֫טָ֥חְתִּי הֽוֹדִיעֵ֗נִי דֶּֽרֶךְ־ז֥וּ אֵלֵ֑ךְ כִּֽי־אֵ֜לֶיךָ נָ֘שָׂ֥אתִי נַפְשִֽׁי: |
| in the morning: When the redemption sprouts. (I found.) |

| let me know the way in which I am to go; I lift up my soul: that You accept my request. |

נשאתי נפשי אליך שתקבל שאלתי (סא"א):

| 9Save me from my enemies, O Lord; to You I have hidden. |
|
טהַצִּילֵ֖נִי מֵאֹֽיְבַ֥י | יְ֜הֹוָ֗ה אֵ֘לֶ֥יךָ כִסִּֽיתִי: |
| to You I have hidden: My tribulations I conceal from all men to tell them to You. |
|
אליך כסיתי:
תלאותי אני מכסה מכל אדם להגידם אליך:
|
| 10Teach me to do Your will for You are my God; may Your good spirit lead me in an even land. |
|
ילַמְּדֵ֚נִי | לַֽעֲשׂ֣וֹת רְצוֹנֶךָ֘ כִּֽי־אַתָּ֪ה אֱל֫וֹהָ֥י רֽוּחֲךָ֥ טוֹבָ֑ה תַּ֜נְחֵ֗נִי בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִישֽׁוֹר: |
| 11For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me; with Your righteousness, deliver my soul from distress. |
|
יאלְמַֽעַן־שִׁמְךָ֣ יְהֹוָ֣ה תְּחַיֵּ֑נִי בְּצִדְקָֽתְךָ֓ | תּוֹצִ֖יא מִצָּרָ֣ה נַפְשִֽׁי: |
| 12And with Your kindness, You shall cut off my enemies, and You shall destroy all the oppressors of my soul, for I am Your servant. |
|
יבוּֽבְחַסְדְּךָ֘ תַּצְמִ֪ית אֹֽ֫יְבָ֥י וְ֖הַֽאֲבַדְתָּ כָּל־צֹֽרְרֵ֣י נַפְשִׁ֑י כִּ֜֗י אֲנִ֣י עַבְדֶּֽךָ: |
