You said in the natural there would be a echo, so why would there be a need to have to have an supernatural miracle just to speak. To me the fact that there was no echo is very reasonable seeing God's "tense" has no frequency, being higher than that of light, even transcending time. Of course the thought of God transcending time is erroneous, although He can "come down and permeate time" so to speak. So to me the real miracle is not there was no echo, but that we could "hear".
Mike, I have read your comments a couple of times. I am still not sure what you are saying. Abstract concepts of "time", "light", "hear", are man made constructs to use in our vain and never to be successful attempt to understand the unfathomable.
