Good Evening,

All of your quizzes are essential, but I especially feel close to this one. I will study more of Rabbi Freeman's lectures on the Amidah. Have a blessed evening. Thank you.

I kept flunking over and over. It was difficult and made no sense to me. I took it until I memorized the answers. Reply

Rivka Rachum West Orange July 21, 2023

Why are there 19 berachot on weekdays, and only 7 on Shabbat? I would have thought it would be the other way around. Reply

Uncertain July 22, 2023
in response to Rivka Rachum:

I’m pretty sure it’s because we are not supposed to ask for specific requests on shabbos cuz it’s the day of rest Reply

This is correct, the exact reason. Reply

Tuvya San Diego July 20, 2023

Oy, that was painful. I pray the silent Amidah at shul on Shabbos and clearly don't know enough about it. Thank you for the wake up call and the opportunity to learn!! Reply

Deborah Greene South Africa July 20, 2023

8/10 Not bad for a Noahide.:) Reply

Adrianne July 20, 2023

Oops I did terribly! Because I don't know anything about the silent prayer! Didn't know it existed! I guessed at everything and got 3/10. I am excited to learn about it! I guess you really stepped up the difficulty level of the quizzes! I didn't see anything about Mendy in this one! Lolol! Thank you for giving the opportunity to learn in a very stimulating way! I know a lot about silent praying, but not the Jewish way! Really do thank you! Reply

Soraya Ferreira Johannesburg July 20, 2023

2nd time 10/10 Reply

Jack Harpers Ferry, WV July 20, 2023

To quote the Amidah itself, "you graciously endow man with wisdom, and teach insight to a frail mortal..." (blessing 4, Shmoneh Esrei)
There is much about this prayer I still don't know. 8/10 isn't bad, but much of it was guessing at what I 'feel' is correct about it.
I was suggesting to the rabbi at the local Chabad house that I would really like to find a course on the Siddur prayers for Shacharis, Minchah, and Maariv to really dive into them and uncover all of the connections to Hashem that are contained there. Reply
