The Covid Yizkor Book

In early March 2020, recognizing the toll the pandemic was beginning to have on the global Jewish community, Chabad.org assembled a team of writers and researchers to go beyond the statistics and compile the names and share the life stories of the Jewish people lost to the coronavirus.

With 1,800 names and stories collected so far, ‘Each Person, A World’ is representative of the much larger number of Jews who have lost their lives to the coronavirus, and highlights the unity and enormity of the loss for our entire people.

This year, Chabad.org has adapted the ‘Each Person, A World’ project into a PDF booklet for communities and individuals to print before and use on Yom Kippur. The Covid Yizkor Book—available at Chabad.org/CovidYizkorBook—is customizable (so congregations can include title the book and include a message from the rabbi or community leaders), and is a tangible reflection of the souls lost to the pandemic.

(Tip: Print double sided and set to "flip on short edge".)
