When praying without a minyan, do not start Musaf until three halachic hours (one quarter of a day) after sunrise.
Musaf of Rosh Hashanah is different than every other musaf and fulfills a vital role. It is important to look it through beforehand and note its structure.
After the three opening blessings are three long blessings with three themes:
1. Proclaim G‑d as king over the world.
2. Mention memory of our covenant with Him.
3. Declare that He responds to the call of the shofar with compassion.
